Hispanics outnumber Anglos in public schools
A new state study of 10 years of public school enrollment in Texas shows Hispanic students surpassing Anglos as the largest ethnic group and the number of low-income students rising to more than a half of enrollment totals. During the 2007-08 school year, 47.2 percent of students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 were Hispanic and 34.8 percent were Anglo. About 55 percent were categorized as "economically disadvantaged," meaning they received free or reduced lunches. (Free my @$$ - someone pays for them. Guess who.)
